The 1st stage of the scheme comprising a weir at Thumboormuzhi across Chalakudy river and a part of the canal system was commissioned in 1957 and the 2nd stage was commissioned in 1966.
Thumboormuzhy River Garden & dam Tourist Place is located in Thrissur.Thumboormuzhy dam is a construction of a weir at Thumboormuzhi across the Chalakudy river and diverting the water for Irrigation purpose.
